Nodetool Java 17 compatibility

Hi,
it seems scylla-jmx is not compatible with Java 17.

Are there any plans making it Java 17 compatible, or perhaps even ditch scylla-jmx for a REST-based nodetool?

We do have plans to replace nodetool with a non-java one, that talks directly to the REST API. That said, we didn’t even start working on this, so I cannot say when it will be ready.

Hi,

I too facing the same issue. Scylla is getting failed to start with java 17. Tried with different scylla versions 5.1 and 5.2. Please find the error below.
