Hi, My name is Aleksey, I am a DBA and started leaning ScyllaDB
I am here because we are looking for replacement for AWS Dynamodb, ScyllaDB seems to be good choice after some research (apart from cassandra).
What I don’t understand is, ScyllaDb team claims that it can used as drop-in replacement for dynamodb, But I found it bit misleading as Data Modeling in Dynamodb (Single table design) seems to be very different from multiple keyspaces of ScyllaDb.
We would like to run hybrid mode initially (just to test things out), running dynamodb or scylladb based on some evironmnet variables.
Can Anyone please explain how it can be used by just changing url and configuration while connecting to db, I don’t find a way to just plug-and-play database this way.
P.S: we are using Single table design as it is preffered and recommended in DynamoDB.
Hey, My name is Chirag, I am an undergraduate student. Looking forward to learning ScyllaDB and interacting with the community.
Hello, I am Ramesh, working as a senior engineer R&D at Mavenir Systems.
Learning ScyllaDB as i have a upcoming project where we would be using it.
Haven’t explored DB flavours much up till now, hoping to learn something new here!
Hello ,my name is aman ,working as a trainee engineer learning scyllaDB for upcoming project
Hello Everyone. My name is Michal and I’m from Poland. I’m software developer learning new technology.
Hey everyone!
I’m Renugopal, can call me - Rego. I’m a full-stack engineer with 5y exp. Currently pursuing a master’s in CS at the University of North Texas. Mostly used Postgresql in production, have also used Mongo, Scylla, Cassandra, MySQL, etc. I love working with databases, started out as a developer who was scared of writing SQL queries, but now I’m pretty confident writing complex SQL queries.
Would love to learn more from the ScyllaDB team!
I’m also looking out for a summer internship in 2024 in software, database, and machine learning domains. Please reach out to me if there are any internship opportunities opening up.
Thanks!
Hi, I am Herman Morales from Guatemala, and I am trying to develop a SaaS tracking platform with Elixir I am doing POC with scyllaDB
Hello, i am Krishma from Bangalore, India. With ScyllaDB, i am trying to refresh NoSql concepts and learn the latest trends in NOSQL. Looking forward to learn ScyllaDB.
Hello, I am Maât from Mageia Linux Community (mageia.org).
At work we are using Cassandra so i decided to explore ScyllaDB world starting by building it under Mageia 9. Maybe i’ll convince them to give a chance to ScyllaDB.
About building Scylla, i think i’m not far but there is a clang error i’m struggling with so here i am and i will start with a first topic about this.
Though i did not find the right place for my topic… so i might start with a placement error (sorry if i do).
Happy to be there and discover your community.
Maât
Hi, I’m Jay,
I previously used Cassandra in a few different organizations in a few different capacities, at the moment I am a solo mobile app developer, and I use Cassandra (cutting over to Scylla very soon) mostly for its redundancy. I get the “sleeping well at night” situation having a very simple setup of having multiple nodes, each which hold 100% of the data, so that I can go on holidays knowing if one server completely blows up, my mobile app will continue to run from another node.
To handle the transition, I’ve been developing using Scylla in Docker, but deploying to production which is still in Cassandra while I build up my confidence with Scylla. I am interested to hear stories from people who have already made the transition. Scylla feels so much easier to manage than Cassandra, and actually more performant for my use case. (Im not sure why its so much faster, I suspect the rust driver might be better at querying the correct node, compared to my legacy Cassandra/gocql setup.)
Hello! I am an artist/data analyst. I am using ScyllaDB university to get more experience with NoSQL, as I find it very interesting. I’m glad to be here! I’m active on LinkedIn - www.linkedin.com/in/heather-magouirk-1a6492184 I’m looking forward to working with you all.
Hi
I am Manivannan Palanisamy and I am a Vice President in an IT analytics company. Wanted to explore more on ScyllaDB in this new surge of analytics and data engineering related technology. Excited to be part of the community
Hi everyone
My name is Jolbertt and I am a System Administrator, I’m so excited to learn more about ScyllaDB
Hello from Italy! I’m a senior software architect and full stack developer, I have been using a NoSQL DBMS (Intersystems Caché) for years, and I’m checking if ScyllaDB is ok for my next project, an IoT cloud service which should collect data from 40k-100k devices continuously. I’m always looking for speed and scalability, and ScyllaDB is really exciting.
Hi, I am Krishthick from India. Excited to learn Scylladb and to join with the community
