This short report brings to light some interesting commits to scylladb.git master from the last week. Commits in the 8066859d359..bb09cb83163 range are covered.
There were 385 non-merge commits from 32 authors in that period. Some notable commits:
Logstor is a new storage engine optimized for key-value storage. It now formats its files faster, resulting in better performance on a clean install.
Queued backup tasks can now be aborted.
Alternator, ScyllaDB’s implementation of the DynamoDB API, now supports the DynamoDB vector search API.
A race condition between tablet streaming and DROP KEYSPACE was fixed.
The test framework now gathers per-test I/O and memory metrics.
There is now a script to reconstruct compaction history from the system.compaction_history table.
CQL functions now work with fragmented rather than linearized values, reducing latency when using large inputs.
Range scans will now avoid throwing exceptions on timeouts, improving goodput in congested conditions.
The s3 driver now employs pacing to avoid stressing S3.
We no longer collect tablet statistics from excluded nodes.
The SELECT … FROM mutation_fragments() statement, used to inspect the underlying storage engine data, now honors GROUP BY and paging.
Full-text search BM25() and vector search ANN() functions now reports both the rank and the score.
