This short report brings to light some interesting commits to scylla-cluster-tests.git master from the last week. Commits in the b0808417…94f0945a range are covered.
There were 77 non-merge commits from 12 authors in that period. Some notable commits:
Multi-value config options are now strictly typed lists, and string options follow the same rule. Test cases moved to the list form, so n_db_nodes: '3 3' becomes n_db_nodes: [3, 3] and nemesis_seed: '256' becomes 256.
Vector-store can now log in to ScyllaDB under its own role and service level for SLA and QoS testing. Set vector_store_scylla_username, which requires PasswordAuthenticator, or use the configurations/vector_store_service_level.yaml overlay.
The event system classifies Scylla log lines by the level Scylla reported, so an INFO-level line never raises an ERROR event and ignore_ignore_runtime_errors is gone. An event type can also supply a finer-grained Argus aggregation id.
Every test now stops the scylla perf-collector at teardown and collects its recordings from /var/log/scylla-perf. Nodes that outlive the test get the collector started again.
Latte was bumped to 0.54.0. The release moves the Alternator workload onto the published Alternator client 1.0 and prints the parameters of a query that fails.
Scylla Doctor was bumped to 1.14.2. The release treats network-backed NVMe as non-NVMe storage, flags a keyspace DC with replication factor 0, and masks DESC SCHEMA in the cluster diff.
The minicloud emulator reached v0.7.0, which resolves S3 names in the guests and serves buckets from a local store. SCT passes scylla-qa-team through to real S3 for the nemeses that load sstables.
See you in the next issue of last week in scylla-cluster-tests.git master!
