Below is a list of performance and stability improvements and bug fixes, each with an open-source reference if available:

- Stability: Scylla cluster nodes utilizes 100% of CPU even with no load [#12774](https://github.com/scylladb/scylladb/issues/12774), [#13377](https://github.com/scylladb/scylladb/issues/13377), [#7753](https://github.com/scylladb/scylladb/issues/7753)
- Correctness: assigning position\_in\_partition is not exception safe, in a rare combination of heavy memory pressure and large read it may lead to incorrect data response [#15822](https://github.com/scylladb/scylladb/issues/15822)
- Performance: Off-strategy compaction improves compaction for run-based compaction strategies reducing temporary storage requirements. [#14992](https://github.com/scylladb/scylladb/issues/14992).
